Safety and protective features prevent accidental burns in the event of a fall or careless movement near a hot oven.
Safety barriers and railings: Wooden frames (most often made of abash, heat-treated aspen, or cedar) that are installed around the sauna heater. They do not heat up to dangerous temperatures and help divide the space into zones.
Heat shields: Metal or mineral wool panels for walls and floors. They reduce the required safety distance between the stove and wooden walls, protecting the wainscoting from catching fire and discoloration.
Installation flanges: Decorative trim pieces for stoves that are recessed into the floor or shelves. They cover installation gaps and create a neat transition from wood to metal.
Sauna stones: Special heat-resistant rocks (jadeite, talc chlorite, gabbro-diabase, quartzite). They can withstand sudden temperature changes and do not crack when water is poured on them.
